“Can I Still Be a Christian And…”

What does “giving your life to Christ” mean? The Gospel invitation is simple and direct: If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved…for all who call on the name of the Lord will be saved (Romans 10:9, 13). But didn’t Jesus say, “unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees (the religious leaders of His day) you will not enter the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 5:20)?
