A Reply to Dan Barker Part 2 – If God, Why Evil?

Evil exists in this world; truthfully, we might say that evil seems to be thriving. This fact is one of the central arguments used against God. If an all loving God exists, why does He allow evil? If an all-powerful God exists, why doesn’t He do away with pain? The basic assertion by Dan Barker in his book “godless” goes something like this: If God is all good, He would destroy evil. If God is all powerful, He could destroy evil. Since evil still exists, either God does not exist, or He is neither all powerful, nor all good. A Reply to Dan Barker Part 1- Are God’s “Omni” Attributes Logically Incompatible?

Do you like to be challenged? A good challenge will cause you to dig deeper, push harder, and gain a more robust understanding and appreciation of a particular skill or subject. Challenges reveal faulty views, clear up misunderstandings, and allow us to grow mentally and physically. We shouldn’t shy away from challenges, but we need to exercise wisdom when accepting them. At 34 I know I shouldn’t be stacking firewood at the same pace as a couple of teenagers (but I still try). What about challenges to our faith? Are there risks?
